The Maynard, Mass., company has inked a deal to provide a video servers system to MTV Italia. Financial terms were not disclosed. "We're able to deliver our viewers an exciting blend of programming that ranges from Italy's music scene to the latest in international music," said Enrico Aprico, of MTV Italia. "SeaChange's Broadcast MediaCluster provides us with tremendous flexibility." The Broadcast MediaCluster is configured with 72GB disk drives and can store approximately 326 hours of content encoded at 10Mb/s. The gear will allow the network to manage and store its own programming digitaly. Previously, content was delivered via satellite from MTV London. On the air since 1998, MTV Italia is a 24-hour music channel dedicated to playing programs, videos and live music events. It's the second most-watched MTV Network in Europe and is the leading generator of international advertising revenues for the network. For SeaChange, the deal come on the heels of a customer win with Blue Ridge Public Television stations in Marion, Roanoake and Norton, Va. Shares of SEAC rose fractionally to 15.04 on Wednesday. In the last 52 weeks, the issue has ranged from9.5 to 38. |
